In 1995, CMAI and Purvin & Gertz, Inc. formed an alliance to conduct consulting services for clients requiring the best attributes and disciplines of both firms on the same job. In addition to jointly conducting various single-client studies around the globe since the birth of the alliance, the alliance is also committed to conducting multiclient studies that require in-depth knowledge of the refinery- petrochemical interface. The first such multiclient study performed jointly by CMAI and Purvin & Gertz utilizing the best talents of both firms was Petrochemicals and Feedstocks to 2015, published in September 1996.

Just as CMAI is well known as a leading petrochemical industry consulting firm since the 1970s, Purvin & Gertz is known throughout the world as a premier crude oil refining and feedstock consultant for the past 50 years.
